Volunteer Sign Up

We're looking for some great people to help build the community and make Highballathon as good as can be. We are looking for judges, scorekeepers, random task doers. Every volunteer gets a comp shirt and a free drink ticket for finals.

In addition to your volunteer shift, we'll be having a short (~30min) volunteer orientation in the days ahead of the comp that you'll have to attend. The meeting is Friday, September 27th at 5:30pm. Please make sure you can attend the meeting before you sign up.

Note: We might not be able to use every volunteer for this event, you only be contacted if you’re chosen.

Volunteer Role Descriptions

Saturday the 28th Judge (7 positions available) - These shifts will run from 8:15-5:45 to judge the 1, 2, and 3rd heats of the scramble portion of the competition.

You’ll be seated in one of the 5 zones marking off sends on competitors score cards. The extra 2 judges on duty will be running for and spelling off judges so they can take breaks, etc.

Food, coffee, and Kombucha will be available in the Studio/volunteer headquarters for the day.

Sunday the 29th Judge (6 positions available) - This is a shorter shift from 8:45-11:45am to judge the 4th heat of the scramble on Sunday.

You’ll be seated in one of the 5 zones marking off sends on competitors score cards. The extra judge on duty will be running for and spelling off judges so they can take breaks, etc.

Food, coffee, and Kombucha will be available in the Studio/volunteer headquarters for the day.

Registration Package Maker (2 positions available) - Thursday the 26th at 11am until you’re done.

You’ll be putting together registration packages for all the competitors. It will be repetitive but there is joy in repetition.

Hold Hauler (1 position for each shift) - Thursday 8am-2pm, Friday 8am-12pm, Friday 2-5pm, Sunday 12-3:30pm.

Come haul holds around, strip boulders, and get a glimpse at the glamorous life of a setter.

Beer Server (2 positions) *SERVING IT RIGHT CERTIFICATE REQUIRED* - Sunday 3:30-8:30pm

Stay sober and pour beer during finals. Legally you must be over 19 years old and have your serving it right certificate to perform this task.

Random Task Doer (we don’t even know how many people we need yet) - If you have completely open availability, love to be busy, can take direction well, be a self starter, perform well under pressure, and do it all with a smile you’re perfect. Please apply for a job too.
